During these days of Holiness which are upon us, beginning from Rosh Hashanah and culminating in Simchat Torah, the holiday of Sukkot–the Festival of Booths–is not only about Holiness, but is also a most festive time. Sukkot is when we celebrate the fact that, during our 40 years of wandering in the desert, G-d provided huts (covered booths) to protect us. Ever since, we mark the occasion by eating all meals (and some even sleeping) in a Sukkah, from the first day of Sukkot until Simchat Torah. (Women and children are not under this obligation.) We also say a blessing each day (except for Shabbos) in the Sukkah using the Four Species: Etrog (Citron), Lulav (Palm Frond), Hadassim (Myrtle Twigs) and Aravot (Willow Twigs). Please join us for Sukkot services and meals in our Sukkah. A Good Yom Tov to all!
