Chanukah, known as the “Festival of Lights,” is, once again, shining on Jews the world over. An eight-day holiday, this year’s first candle was lit on Sunday, December 18, and will conclude on December 26. From the time we are children, we’re told about the miracle of Chanukah; how a small amount of oil–enough to light the Menorah in the Temple for one day–lasted for eight. This is truly a joyous time of year and, as always, the Cruger Avenue Synagogue gets in the spirit with our Annual Chanukah Party! This year’s fete is not to be missed. After a community candle lighting, sit back and enjoy the liveliest live music, as several outstanding performers come your way. Then feast on delectable traditional Chanukah food–latkes, donuts and much more. Spin a dreidel and enter our raffle. The fun never stops!
The party takes place in our synagogue on Thursday, December 22, beginning at 4 pm. Best of all, it’s FREE OF CHARGE! So come one, come all–the light beckons!
